Very Interesting Indeedy Doo

Completely different issues in the alleyway currently; this entire area seems under construction and changing kinda fast.  I have some great hopes for the grey water system installed and the landscaping that will be placed onto this new creation of human. What are my choices..






The alleyway is looking great! Only one hidden needle and needle cap.  I'm not going to weigh in as to whether there needs to be a needle exchange here because i simply don't know and have not studied the issue.  Again, I've very carefully sculpted the vegetation so that the alleyway is most clearly visible so that we can see anyone who may be dangerously passed out in the alleyway or someone trying to establish a base camp within the city without the consent of neighboring, affected, people.

I do think ANYONE administering intravenous medications or "drugs" should have a place to do safely but a public alleyway without a proper disposal sight is not the best place. I can see the temptation because it is a quite beautiful little resting spot so we need to have patience without condoning loose needles left in bushes through lack of action. I do find the best approach is to continually clean the site so that more people are considerate of the publicly shared spaces.

I'm asking Leaders of our neighboring  organizations to once again ask ground crews to simply take the time to look at the alleyway.  If we could ask 4j workers loading and unloading in the North Lot of Civic to notify others if there seems to be suspicious activity happening in the alleyway it would be helpful.

Campsite Established May 10th?

A pretty typical site behind our fence especially when the rains cease and Summer is in full swing.  I've placed a work order for Public Works and informed neighboring people and organizations.  And, when I mow the alleyway I will check again to see again the state of this situation.  If no one has had a chance to pick up the wet mess I'll try to gather and collect it to a central spot. Neighbors are suggesting cutting down the trees but the trees are really important; they keep our neighborhood cool.  This area, due to all the concrete and lack of shade, really heats up during the summer.

If One Must Set Up Tent...

I will be reporting two tent sites for the canine walkers, and those public service people who maintain the grounds, to be aware.  One site appears to be against our common agreements as to where campsites are allowed and the other may be within a the backyard of a resident –kid-tent or guests. For us, Bella and I, food left outside tents overnight becomes a problem for all parties involved.  Best to travel with a "bear" safe container or keep food inside and zipped up within tents.  Food left outside is problematic inside urban boundaries as wild animals who might consume food at night are not as plentiful.  We have not seen people or food outside the tent to the east; however two or three people appear to be accessing the western tent; one whom I met and seemed nice enough, however, donuts were left outside the tent.  I hope these campers have communicated and have clearance from ground floor to be stationed in this throughway....

Making a Maintenance Request

Today I will request a clean up from Public Works regarding two areas of concern.  These areas are marked down here with little red cylinders.  These are the areas I recommend for additional public trash cans. Continually trash collects in these locations.
